Shooting Parties, Shooting Dinners & Shooting Lunches

The Hoops Inn has hosted shooting parties for many years with North Devon being recognized as a major UK game bird shooting county. Noted for Pheasant and Partridge shoots, along with Snipe, Woodcock, Duck and Geese, the area also has specialized stalker organizing Deer Hunting.

Whilst The Hoops Inn, does not involve itself directly in organizing or managing shoots, we do welcome all Shooters and Shoot Parties and we have done so far since the 1950s. We are conveniently centered for the majority of North Devon Shoot Venues, we are easy to locate on the A39, between Bideford and Clovelly, with a large (50+) secure car park.

The Hoops Inn is renowned for its Food, has a prestigious AA Rosette for its Restaurant Menu and a good local following for its excellent Bar Food. Local Real Ales, a varied Wine list and a good offering of Vintage Ports, completes a rounded package. We have 2 separate Private Dining Areas, the first will accommodate up to 10 persons and second up to 18 persons, both offer superb service and ambience.

The Hoops Inn can also offer Shoot Lunches tailored in terms of quality and price to our customers exacting requirements.

My partner and I stayed at The Hoops Inn for 3 nights in March 2012 for one of our many mid weeks breaks this year (staycation in UK). Cost 55.00 per night, inc breakfast for 2, which we both thought was quite reasonable. We stayed in room 11 which we were happy with. I think it was one of the best nights sleep we have ever had on one of our breaks away, it was so quiet, at night only hearing the pheasents from time to time and the dawn chorus from the other birds at day break, bliss...

A good breakfast menu to choose from with plenty of toast, tea and coffee also offered. There was also a good choice with an evening meal menu from the bar, in which we sampled from the 3 nights that we were there, which were excellent. Some nice local beers from the cask to choose from, it's always nice to try the local ales. And last but not least, all the staff were very warm and friendly. If we stay in the area again, The Hoops Inn will certainly be at the top of our list to stay at. Thank you to the Managment and Staff at The Hoops Inn, you really did make our stay enjoyable and relaxed.
